Ribbons + Flowers + Fur = Marchesa!

Frank Tell

Having been interested in fashion for more than a year, i have shockingly never been bothered to check out the not-so-well-known designers. Instead, i lived on, only knowing the popular names like Jimmy Choo, Christian Dior, Ralph Lauren, Diane Von Furstenburg, Chanel, Prada... you get the idea. So this fashion week, together with the starting of this blog, really opened up my sesame-seed eyes. Literally.

3.1 Phillip Lim had a collection adorned with floral patterns, and unique hemlines, some being lined with metallic fabric, which stood out brilliantly. One piece of clothing that stood out, in my opinion, must have been the grey embroided cardigan.

Frank Tell. Never heard of him, but i still adore his designs nevertheless. The neutral colour palette in his designs only contributed to its sleekness and sophistication.

Caution! Picture Heavy

It's New York Fashion Week. Oh how i wish i was there! A sea of fashion, intricate designs, contrasting fabrics, rich colours and beautiful people everywhere you go, the streets could very well be a fashion show by itself. Here's some eye candy for you, starting from my all-time favourite designer, Diane Von Furstenburg, whose designs are pretty beyond words.

Marc Jacobs

The little detail of a pink ribbon at the shoes, floral leggings, pointed hoodie, vintage blouse(which looks as if it was inspired by Audrey Hepburn) and the puffed up jeans - all the little details that make the whole "vintage rock" look work.

Lela Rose

This is obviously a more elegant and classic collection. I just love the flowy dresses and the girly-ness of it all.
I promise more to come!

Frumps and Jo

(Frumps on the left and Jo on the right)

We haven't introduced ourselves yet so here's our introduction! Forgive us for the lousy camera-phone photo quality - we're saving up for a camera):

Frumps
I hate making intros. Once I start, it never ends. I am a girl, who wants to live on her own capabilities. Totally hopeless in art, unlike Jo, so surprise surprise! I love fashion, I love dressing up and I love exploring. Contradictingly, I am not a big fan of shopping fullstop merci !

Jo
I'll be doing most of the writing in our blog. My loves are fashion, photographyand baking. My style has been described as girly and free-flowing(like dresses) but personally, i think i go for simplicity and hints of tiny details that pop.

Hussein Chalayan

I'm currently in love with jumpsuits and so i went to look for pretty ones and chanced upon Hussein Chalayan's collection.
Here's the best part!

I'm not too sure what inspired him to design those dresses but the whole porcupine-back idea is genius!
